About The Position

The newly created Company, FerroWorks, has locations in Pittsburgh, McKees Rocks, and Kutztown, PA, including McConway and Torley and Standard Forged, which have been in continuous operations since 1869. They have consistently met customer needs with a steady, dependable, and economical supply of high-quality railroad industry products. As McConway is the original designer of the first standard automatic coupler, continued innovation and craftsmanship have led to a product line that includes every ARR approved coupler as well as custom coupler solutions, all proudly cast in the US. McConway and Torley is looking for a Mechanic to provide assistance to production crews in mechanical and machine operations, building and facilities, and associated equipment. This role will primarily involve working on and servicing the mobile equipment at the plant.

Requirements

At least 2 years of related experience
High school diploma

Responsibilities

With readily available technical guidance, keep mobile equipment in good repair.
Respond in a timely manner to work orders and management requests.
Examine a variety of machines to diagnose trouble and recommend repair.
Dismantle mobile equipment, replace defective parts, reassemble mobile equipment and make necessary adjustments to ensure efficient operation.
Assist more experienced maintenance mechanics as assigned.
Follow all safety regulations and company policies regarding safety.
Work around a wide variety of equipment, chemicals and machinery; must be aware of safety hazards at all times.
Perform any and all other job related tasks as assigned.
Available to work any and all shifts.
