About The Position

We are seeking an experienced and reliable professional Registered Nurse to provide team-oriented support with the Director of Nursing in the day-to-day nursing department schedule. This person will have responsibility for the monitoring, prevention and control of infections and communicable diseases within the facility. They will also plan, organize, develop, and direct all in-service educational programs and orientation throughout the facility in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations, and as may be directed by the Director of Nursing, to assure that the highest degree of quality resident care can be maintained at all times. Educate staff on infection prevention protocols and ensure facility is compliant with current infection control practices Gather and analyze infection data including tracking and trending by disease category Participate in evidenced-based decision making to strengthen facility standards of care Provide guidance and education to direct care staff on best nursing practices related to the management of infectious diseases Maintain resident and staff records in compliance with HIPAA, OSHA and other agency privacy standards Report infectious disease trends to the management team, local, state and federal agencies as required Collaborate with external agencies, physicians and facility managers to ensure infection control best practices are developed and maintained throughout the facility Possess a strong understanding of long-term care federal and state regulations Provide patient education and teaching as needed

Requirements

  • Graduate from an approved school with an active RN Licenses is required.
  • 2 years of related work experience required
  • Excellent organization & communication skills required
  • Ability to multi-task, remain calm under pressure with excellent customer service skills.
  • Possess a strong understanding of long-term care federal and state regulations

Nice To Haves

  • CPR Instruction Certification is preferred
  • Experience with Dayforce and excel spreadsheets preferred
