Requirements

• Must have current, valid Florida Hygiene License in accordance with Florida Statute 466
• Must be CPR certified
• Skilled in written and oral communication
• Ability and willingness to work with children, teachers and parents in a school/daycare setting.

Responsibilities

• Provides dental prophylaxis, scaling and root planning, and periodontal probing as needed
• Instructs patients in preventative dental techniques (oral hygiene instructions)
• May apply topical anesthesia as recommended/required preparation for dental procedures to be performed by the dentist
• Completes and maintains records of patients
• Exposes radiographs at appropriate intervals
• Orders and stocks dental supplies as needed
• Assists with planning, developing and conducting dental health education or preventative programs
• Participates in research projects and needs assessment surveys
• Other Duties Assigned.
