About The Position

The Mobile Health Van Driver will safely operate a 33-foot mobile health clinic van to transport staff and equipment to local community events and outreach locations. The driver will assist staff with event setup and take-down, ensure the vehicle is adequately maintained, and support the clinic’s mission to provide health services to the community.

Requirements

  • Valid California Class A driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Experience driving large vehicles (33-foot van or similar) preferred.
  • Ability to safely maneuver and park large vehicles in various community settings.
  • Strong commitment to safety and attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift and move equipment (up to 50 pounds) as needed.
  • Flexible, reliable, and able to work occasional evenings or weekends for community events.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate a 33-foot mobile health van in compliance with all California driving laws and clinic policies.
  • Transport staff, equipment, and supplies to community events, outreach sites, and other locations as required.
  • Assist clinic staff with set-up and take-down at events, including arranging furniture, signage, and medical equipment.
  • Maintain a visible and alert presence during outreach events to identify and report any potential safety or security risks.
  • Perform daily vehicle safety checks, including tire pressure, lights, brakes, and fluid levels.
  • Ensure the van is clean and well-maintained, including washing, fueling, and routine maintenance tracking.
  • Report any vehicle issues, accidents, or safety concerns promptly to the supervisor.
  • Maintain accurate logs of mileage, fuel, and maintenance activities.
  • Adhere to all safety, health, and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) guidelines when transporting staff, patients, or medical equipment.
  • Follows and adheres to the Employee Handbook, as well as MMHC policies and procedures.
