Insurance benefits start day 1. 80 hours vacation after 90 days. On-the-job training with career growth opportunities. Are you a mechanic looking for a new maintenance opportunity? The Doe Run Company is seeking a mobile equipment mechanic in order to ensure process safety and minimize division downtime. This night shift position at Fletcher Underground is located in Centerville, Mo. The work location may change as needed to support production and business needs within the Viburnum Trend in Southeast Missouri.

Requirements

  • Successful completion of an industrial maintenance course or auto technology course or one year of auto repair experience or industrial maintenance experience.
  • Valid, current driver’s license.
  • Basic mechanical skills.
  • Ability to operate mobile equipment, including cranes, forklifts, skid steer loaders, etc.
  • Basic computer skills and diagnostic skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and willingness to learn time management and financial software.
  • Basic literacy skills.
  • Ability to learn to read schematics/blueprints.
  • Demonstrated skill in using small hand tools, measuring, and basic mathematical calculations.

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, preferred.
  • Familiarity with divisional operations (i.e., mining, milling, smelting).
  • Familiarity with metal fabrication, hydraulics/pneumatics, refractory work, bearings/seals, welding, pipe fitting, pump repair, and mechanical repairs.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot equipment problems.
  • Provide scheduled maintenance and repairs.
  • Manage time to provide effective, timely, and efficient repair and maintenance service.
  • Install new equipment and modify existing equipment as required per job site.
  • Complete tasks in a safe and environmentally compliant manner by following EHS (environmental, health, and safety) policies, procedures, and best practices; support and assist peers in working in a safe, compliant manner; report unsafe acts or conditions, incidents, and deviations; and provide feedback to support continuous improvement in EHS performance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
