About The Position

The position involves performing diagnostic, maintenance, and repair of heavy equipment such as Haul Trucks, Water Trucks, Rubber Tire and Track Dozers, Front-end Loaders, and Motor Graders. Responsibilities include the removal, repair, and installation of various heavy equipment systems or components, including transmissions, engines, brakes, differentials, pumps, motors, torque converters, and final drives. The role also requires performing mechanical and lubrication preventative maintenance on machine systems, prioritizing equipment repairs, maintaining work orders, and conducting work area inspections. Additionally, the position involves operating mobile equipment like overhead cranes, forklifts, and boom trucks, performing various welding techniques, and acting as a fill-in supervisor when necessary. Training and mentoring other employees is also part of the job, along with performing other duties as required.

Requirements

  • Two (2) years’ experience in mechanical/maintenance crafts or a combination of education and experience in industrial mechanical repair and maintenance.
  • Completion of academic and practical competencies required, including Line of Progression requirements for internal employees.
  • Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures in English.
  • Ability to communicate in English regarding job assignments, job procedures, and applicable safety standards.
  • Ability to prioritize repairs and possess excellent decision-making skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot machine systems.
  • Ability to work and effectively communicate with others.
  • Ability to read and use blueprints.

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic, maintenance, and repair of heavy equipment.

  • Perform welding including Carbon arc, Plasma, Mig, Tig, and Stick.
  • Act as a Fill-in Supervisor as required.
  • Train and mentor other employees.
  • Perform other duties as required.
