What this job involves: This mobile HVAC Mechanic position focuses on operating, inspecting, and maintaining all HVAC, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and production equipment across assigned facilities to achieve efficient operating results and maximum equipment life expectancy. You'll ensure equipment operates in an energy-efficient and safe manner while minimizing downtime through preventive maintenance and anticipating necessary repairs. The role requires technical expertise in one craft area (Electrical, HVAC, Piping/Plumbing, Central Utility Plant Operations, or Material Handling Equipment) with multi-skilled capabilities in others to successfully complete daily and weekly work assignments. Your day-to-day tasks will include: Performing preventive maintenance and responding to repair work orders on facility mechanical, electrical, and installed systems Maintaining, operating, and repairing HVAC systems, electrical distribution equipment, plumbing systems, and building interiors/exteriors Conducting facility inspections and due diligence efforts, reporting on conditions that impact client occupancy and operations Operating building automation systems, fire/life safety systems, and other building-related equipment Demonstrating and enforcing safety rules, identifying hazards and risks, and participating in incident investigations Recording equipment readings and making adjustments to ensure proper operation Managing daily work orders through the Corrigo work order system Responding to customer inquiries professionally and assisting with emergency situations such as fire alarms, chemical spills, and hazardous conditions Maintaining compliance with State, County, and City ordinances, codes, and laws while keeping the workplace clean and safe Desired experience and technical skills: You should have thorough knowledge of building systems to control operating costs (especially energy) while satisfying customer requirements. Demonstrate aptitude for or practical experience with thermodynamic, electrical, and mechanical systems, as well as computer-controlled equipment. The ability to perform all work using proper personal protective equipment (PPE) and strict adherence to safety policies, procedures, and practices is essential.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or state equivalent
  • Minimum of two years' college or related trade schooling
  • Minimum of four years' experience in electrician trade or related field OR minimum of four years' experience in HVAC/refrigeration trade or related field
  • Valid U.S. driver's license with a clean driving record and commitment to defensive driving practices
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 80 lbs and perform frequent walking, climbing, bending, kneeling, stooping, and overhead work
  • Capability to climb stairs, navigate rooftops, use ladders up to 30 ft, and work from heights
  • Ability to climb a ladder with 300-lb weight limit while carrying approximately 20 lbs of tools
  • Availability for call-in work and extended driving periods
  • Completion of all required safety trainings as scheduled

Nice To Haves

  • Additional certifications in HVAC, electrical, or related mechanical trades
  • Experience with building automation systems and computerized maintenance management systems
