(HTI), is a full-line Semi Trailer Dealer specializing in Sales, Service, Parts, Leasing, and Graphics for the heavy-duty vehicle aftermarket. The Mobile Diesel Technician will diagnose and complete complex repairs to engines both in the shop and at customer sites, engaging with customers professionally. This role involves using specialized tools, following documented procedures for repairs, identifying and preparing parts, performing preventative maintenance, and escalating unresolved issues to senior technicians or supervisors. The technician will also be responsible for completing required documentation.

Requirements

  • Excellent Diagnostic skills
  • Ability to carry out full diagnostics using diagnostic tools on different product types
  • Experience performing all work within Standard Repair Times (STRs)
  • Experience using Insite Diagnostic Tool
  • Properly use parts books, services manuals, and QuickServe online
  • Experience using Cummins EDS System
  • Experienced Diesel Engine Technician Level II or Level III with High Horsepower
  • Have completed multiple complete engine overhauls by yourself or within a team environment
  • Experience with Cummins Diesel Engines: ISB 6.7 and ISB 5.9, ISX 15, QSK 30 to QSK 78 engines OR K19, KT38, K50 and QSK50 or QSK60-QSK95, QST30 engines.
  • CAT Diesel Engines: C15, CAT 3400 series, CAT 3500 series or CAT 3600 series or Perkins
  • Cummins Certified Master Diesel Technician / Mechanic – Required
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent – Required
  • Ability to Lift/Carry 100lbs - Infrequently
  • Ability to Lift/Carry 25-99lbs - Occasionally
  • Ability to Lift/Carry 1-24lbs - Frequently

Nice To Haves

  • Post-Secondary Certificate or training as a Diesel Technician
  • Experience with Ottawa/Kalmar product

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and complete complex repairs to engines both in the shop and at the customer's site
  • Engage with customers in a courteous and professional manner by ensuring prompt and efficient attention to customer needs
  • Apply the use of specialized tools and follow documented procedures and policies to diagnose and complete fewer complex repairs, including identifying and preparing required parts and tools
  • Perform preventative maintenance activities per documented schedules and standards on the engine and related components in shop or in the field
  • Escalate unresolved issues to more experienced Field Service Technicians and/or Supervisor
  • Complete required documents, such as service worksheets, time sheets, and warranty claims through handwritten forms and/or business system input screens
