Join our team of driven professionals with Budget Truck, a subsidiary of Avis Budget Group enterprise. As a Diesel Mechanic, you'll take charge of crucial repairs on a variety of cargo vans box truck brands and models, with minimal technical supervision required. Your duties will involve performing routine maintenance tasks like oil changes, lubrication, tire repairs, and potentially warranty repairs, depending on your level of expertise. Additionally, you may assist our experienced mechanics in tackling complex repair processes. If a box truck or cargo van breaks down, you may also perform repairs, traveling to the vehicle's location to get it back on the road quickly and efficiently. May be required to drive a Budget Truck on public access roads.

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks like oil changes, lubrication, and tire repairs.
  • Assist experienced mechanics in complex repair processes.

  • Valid Driver’s License Class A, B or C CDL
  • At least 2 years of experience with mechanical repairs and diagnostics on heavy duty and medium duty equipment
  • 1 ASE certification (ability to acquire 2 additional ASE certifications within first year)
  • Knowledgeable in areas covered by the ASE certification programs, including Engine Repair, Drive Train/Axles, Suspension/Steering, Brakes, Electrical, Heating/Air Conditioning, Engine Performance and Light Vehicle/Diesel
  • Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Must have a complete set of tools required for auto repair and maintenance
  • Basic computer skills including typing and data entry
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform various physical activities related to the job
  • Must be at least 21 years of age and legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Must be able to obtain DOT medical clearance
  • Previous Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) experience preferred.
  • Bi-weekly hourly wage (weekly wage in New York and Puerto Rico)
