About The Position

The Mobile Crisis Therapist at EMPACT-SPC is responsible for providing crisis intervention and counseling services in collaboration with the Mesa Police Department. This role involves responding to crisis calls, managing ongoing client cases, and coordinating care while working in a fast-paced environment. The therapist will provide services in various settings, including in-home and community-based environments, and will be part of a team dedicated to driving change in crisis response systems.

Requirements

• Master's Degree in psychology, counseling, social work, or a directly related field.
• Minimum of two years of previous experience in Crisis Services, preferably in sub-acute or urgent psychiatric settings.
• Ability to remain calm in stressful situations and collaborate in a team environment.
• Valid AZ Driver's license with no major infractions for the past 39 months.
• Fingerprint clearance card required or must be eligible to obtain one.
• Must be at least 21 years of age at the time of employment.

Nice To Haves

• Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred.

Responsibilities

• Respond to crisis calls and provide direct in-home, in-office, and community-based crisis counseling and follow-up services.
• Coordinate communication with other departments to ensure continuity of care for clients.
• Develop and maintain effective working relationships with state and community behavioral health organizations.
• Provide instruction and training for interns and new staff as assigned.
• Ensure quality service delivery and maintain client records in accordance with agency policies.
• Work cooperatively and professionally as part of a cohesive team, especially in potentially volatile situations.
• Oversee the everyday functioning of department vehicles and report incidents involving damage or theft.
