Make a Difference The Mobile Crisis Peer Support Specialist will engage with individuals and families to improve their health and wellness, live self-directive lives, and strive to reach their full potential. This role is responsible for conducting crisis response with a trauma-informed approach during a crisis event, providing support and assisting with de-escalation, to individuals in the community and via the crisis response hotline. The Mobile Crisis Peer Support Specialist performs a wide range of tasks to assist consumers engagement in treatment, in regaining control over their lives and recovery process. They will model competence in recovery and coping and are willing to utilize his/her/their own story of recovery to assist consumers toward their own recovery goals. The team will partner with first responders and community partners to reduce arrests and the need for support from emergency departments. Patients First: The Mobile Crisis Peer Support Specialist collaborates as part of a multidisciplinary care team by supporting the comprehensive psycho-social assessments. They help clients regulate emotions and document services provided in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) based on policies and procedures. They meet client''s where they are at by providing support in client''s homes, in community settings, at crisis departments, or at emergency departments. Relationships: Applicants for this position should be able to collaborate with others in a team setting, have excellent communication skills, and a positive attitude toward problem-solving. They will assist with crisis and emergency departments when not responding to off-site crisis calls. Integrity: The Mobile Crisis Peer Support Specialist will comply with all applicable Behavioral Health Care Service policies and procedures. Individuals may not perform all of these duties, or may perform additional, related duties not listed here.

Requirements

  • Current Indiana Driver's License with valid vehicle insurance
  • Verified completion of a state [1] approved Certified Recovery Specialist training program and passing score on certification exam. Or Completed Addiction Peer Recovery Coach Certification.
  • 1+ years: Experience in a human service recovery field
  • Ability to collaborate with others in a team setting
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Positive attitude toward problem-solving
  • Ability to work with clients in various stages of change who need assistance regulating thoughts and emotions
  • Ability to acknowledge, value, and celebrate collective experiences and differences of patients, other caregivers, and the communities we serve
  • Actively involved in professional development and education, including mandatory training
