Make a Difference The Mobile Crisis Peer Support Specialist will engage with individuals and families to improve their health and wellness, live self-directive lives, and strive to reach their full potential. This role is responsible for conducting crisis response with a trauma-informed approach during a crisis event, providing support and assisting with de-escalation, to individuals in the community and via the crisis response hotline. The Mobile Crisis Peer Support Specialist performs a wide range of tasks to assist consumers engagement in treatment, in regaining control over their lives and recovery process. They will model competence in recovery and coping and are willing to utilize his/her/their own story of recovery to assist consumers toward their own recovery goals. The team will partner with first responders and community partners to reduce arrests and the need for support from emergency departments.

Requirements

  • Current Indiana Driver's License with valid vehicle insurance
  • Verified completion of a state [1] approved Certified Recovery Specialist training program and passing score on certification exam. Or Completed Addiction Peer Recovery Coach Certification.
  • 1+ years: Experience in a human service recovery field (Required)

  • be able to work with clients in various stages of change who need assistance regulating thoughts and emotions

  • be actively involved in professional development and education, including mandatory training

Responsibilities

  • supporting the comprehensive psycho-social assessments
  • help clients regulate emotions
  • document services provided in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) based on policies and procedures
  • providing support in client''s homes, in community settings, at crisis departments, or at emergency departments
  • assisting with crisis and emergency departments when not responding to off-site crisis calls
  • complete timecards, PTO requests, mileage reports, and other documentation per Community Behavioral Health policies and procedures
