About The Position

The Mobile Van Operator is responsible for driving and operating TVHC’s mobile van to deliver community-based health services. This role ensures the safe, efficient, and professional operation of the vehicle, including transport to and from designated service sites, daily setup and breakdown, and basic maintenance to keep the mobile unit safe and fully functional for patients and staff. Schedule: This is an on-call position, which requires flexibility in availability. Please note that the number of hours per week may vary (up to 40 hours) based on operational needs, and while the role is on-call , there may be opportunities for additional shifts or regular hours depending on demand. About TVHC: Tiburcio Vasquez Health Center is a nonprofit community health center dedicated to promoting the health and well-being of our community by providing accessible, high-quality care through the integration of primary care, dental care, WIC support, mental health counseling, community health education, and more. Compensation: $25.20 - $26.28 per hour, depending on experience. TVHC offers compensation ranges that are determined by a thorough market-based analysis and are fully disclosed in accordance with California law. The pay for a selected candidate is determined by a variety of factors to ensure fair and equitable compensation. These factors include the candidate's experience, education, skills, training, licensure, certifications, and the specific scope of the role. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience driving a mobile clinic van, bus, or similar vehicle required.
  • Valid and current California Class C driver’s license with no suspensions or revocations required.
  • Mechanical skills and ability to address minor vehicle issues required.
  • Ability to drive to various sites as needed required.

Responsibilities

  • Safely drive and transport the mobile dental van to and from assigned service locations and storage facilities.
  • Perform daily setup and breakdown of the mobile unit, ensuring readiness for patient care.
  • Conduct and document daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
  • Essure that the mobile dental van receives proper maintenance for optimal function and operation.
  • Schedule and coordinate routine maintenance and service appointments.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs and promptly report vehicle service needs.
  • Ensure the safety of all patients, staff, and equipment during transport and setup.
  • Respond appropriately to emergencies within the scope of training and organizational policy.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the mobile unit at all times.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
