The Jamestown Healing Clinic (JHC) is seeking a reliable and safety-focused MMU Driver and Security Officer to join our mobile healthcare team. This exempt position supports the delivery of Opiate Treatment Program (OTP) services to rural and underserved communities throughout Clallam County, Washington. This role carries dual responsibilities: ensuring the safety and security of patients and staff while operating the Mobile Medication Unit (MMU)—an RV-based clinical unit. The position involves daily travel to remote locations and return to the physical OTP site in Sequim, WA.

Requirements

Must be 21 years of age or older.
High school diploma or GED required.
Demonstrated reliability and punctuality.
Valid Washington State Driver’s License with a clean driving record and a current driver’s abstract from the Washington DOL, including at least five (5) years of verifiable driving experience.
Minimum one (1) year of experience in medical/para transport, passenger transport, emergency vehicle operation, military service, or a related field.
Comfortable transporting patients traveling with children; ability to properly install and secure child safety seats in accordance with Washington State law.
Ability to safely operate a vehicle in various and potentially harsh weather conditions.
Strong knowledge of traffic laws, highway safety rules, and accident prevention practices.
Knowledge of security operations, including procedures and strategies to protect people, property, and sensitive information.
Ability to remain calm and professional in high-stress or unusual situations.
Comfortable working with individuals experiencing substance use disorders, mental health conditions, or homelessness.
Understanding of and adherence to state (RCW, WAC) and federal confidentiality regulations, including 42 CFR Part 2; must conduct self ethically and professionally at all times.
Flexibility to accommodate occasional evenings and weekend work based on MMU scheduling; some work may occur at the JHC site in Sequim, WA.
Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, including conflict resolution.
Cultural awareness and sensitivity to the populations served by JHC.
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
Strong time management, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Must meet current vaccine requirements for employment.
CPR/First Aid Certification or ability to obtain upon hire.
Must successfully pass a criminal background check.
Ability to travel locally and regionally as assigned.

Responsibilities

Safely transport staff and medications to and from various locations in a timely manner, including operating the MMU and assisting patients with boarding and disembarking.
Maintain a clean, organized, and fully operational mobile medication unit, including routine cleaning, restocking supplies, and ensuring equipment functionality.
Perform basic medical support tasks as needed, including observing and obtaining urine specimens from patients of the same gender, following all safety and security procedures.
Immediately report incidents, delays, accidents, injuries, or safety/security concerns to the appropriate point of contact.
Ensure all passengers adhere to safety rules and expectations, including proper use of child safety restraints.
Protect patient confidentiality and safeguard all sensitive information in accordance with applicable regulations.
Uphold safety and security measures to prevent and respond to harassment, threats, or violence involving patients and staff.
Use tact, professionalism, and diplomacy to de-escalate challenging situations.
Conduct security checks and ensure the MMU is secured after operating hours.
Monitor surveillance cameras and routinely patrol and assess areas inside and outside the MMU.
Follow and enforce all regulations and guidelines related to OTP and mobile unit operations, including DEA, SAMHSA, and Washington State DOH requirements.
Maintain communication with JHC Security and Transportation Departments at the Sequim OTP site.
Provide cross-coverage at the Sequim location as needed, including driving patient transport vehicles or supporting security operations.
Perform additional duties as assigned, including customer service, inventory support, and participation in ongoing training.
Adhere to all JHC policies and procedures, including safety standards, Occupational Exposure Control Plan, 42 CFR, and HIPAA regulations.
