About The Position

Spectrum Healthcare Resources is seeking to hire a part time (32 hours a week), Medical Laboratory Technician or Medical Technician for the evening shift at the Fairfax Health Center in Fairfax, Virginia. This is your chance to make a difference in the lives of patients who are active military, veterans and their dependents. Shift: This position will be for the day and evening shifts from Monday - Thursday from 7:00am-3:00pm EST and 12:00pm to 8:00PM. Every other Saturday from 7am-2pm. Job Requirements: For MLT Must possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent. Graduation from a medical laboratory technician training program accredited by the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS) or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES). Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP), National Credentialing Agency for Laboratory Personnel (NCA), or American Medical Technologists (AMT), or state licensure as a medical laboratory technician. Two years related experience preferred. Have and maintain current certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association. Shall be able to read, write, and speak English well enough to effectively communicate with patients and other staff members. Have knowledge of computer operations and proficiency in the use of basic word processing, data entry, and automated records. Must be a US Citizen Must have a REAL ID to get on base For MT At least 1 year experience in an outpatient clinic setting within the last 3 years Completion of a Medical Assisting program accredited by either CAAHEP, ABHES, AAMA, AMT, or military training Job Duties: Screens patient information and collects and processes specimens for testing. Performs testing in the Microbiology, Chemistry, Serology, Hematology, Coagulation, Urinalysis, and Immunohematology sections including specimen receipt, preparation, analysis, and reporting of results. Checks patient identification. Orders and accessions tests into the Composite Health Care System. Instructs patients on proper specimen collection techniques and provides patients with necessary specimen collection equipment and containers. Requirements

  • For MLT
