About The Position

ProMedica is a mission-driven, not-for-profit health care organization headquartered in Toledo, Ohio. Up to a $20,000 sign on bonus depending on level of experience. $20,000 will have a 2 year commitment, up to $10,000 will have a 1 year commitment. Sign on bonus is eligible to external candidates and internal per diem candidates that have been employed with ProMedica for less than 6 months.

Responsibilities

  • Performs testing and maintains established hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Processes biological specimens for analysis and evaluates problems related to specimen collection and processing.
  • Performs routine and complex analytical procedures, recognizes deviations, and provides interpretation.
  • Operates instruments and performs procedures within the scope of training.
  • Performs scheduled maintenance procedures and recognizes equipment malfunctions.
  • Performs, records, and maintains accurate quality control records.
  • Answers inquiries regarding results and factors affecting results, acting as a liaison between laboratory and health care team.
  • Performs routine inquiry and data input on the laboratory computer systems.
  • Instructs new associates and students as required and assesses competencies of other test performers.
  • Completes required number of CE units and mandatory in-services.
  • Provides guidance to co-workers in the absence of an on-site Supervisor regarding staffing and technical issues.
