About The Position

The MLT Student works with staff technologists (MT/MLT) to perform interpret and correlate clinical laboratory tests, procedures and associated tasks in all disciplines of the Clinical Laboratory, by following protocols. The student performs quality control and quality assurance procedures; performs equipment/instruments checks and maintains appropriate records. Under the direction of a staff technologist, the MLT student is expected to utilize complex problem solving skills in resolving clinical and instrument problems.

Requirements

• Current Enrollment Student in an accredited MLT Program
• Current Enrollment in Clinical Rotation in an accredited MLT Program.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Works under the supervision of a MLT
• Performs testing.
• Reviews results as assigned.
• Evaluates shifts and trends and correlates results with disease processes.
• Maintains work environment.
• Interacts with necessary departments and agencies both within and outside the hospital.
