About The Position

We are actively searching for an experienced and energetic individual to become Bar Server at MKT Bar of Four Seasons Hotel San Francisco. This is Union Extra / On-Call Position. BASIC PURPOSE: Serve guest needs by providing exceptional knowledge of wine spirits, and mixed drinks as well as information regarding preparation methods.

Requirements

• Experience working a minimum of 2-3 years in Food & Beverage and previous experience as a server.
• Advanced Wine, spirits, and beverage knowledge is a must - Candidates will be evaluated on their knowledge.
• Thrive working in a fast-paced, and large team environment.
• Must be flexible with a schedule - Able to work weekdays, weekends, and holidays shifts.
• Strong oral presentation skills.
• Ability to carry and balance a tray.
• Ability to accurately process cash and credit card transactions.
• Ability to multi-task in a high volume and demanding environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills, ability to handle difficult situations and guests.

• Preferred experience in a luxury hotel or resort.

Responsibilities

• Describe the selection of beverage menu items to guests by offering interesting, and vivid descriptions of each item’s, origin, taste, and preparation methods.
• Maintain food & menu knowledge for items offered in the lounge.
• Communicate guest orders including any special needs or requests to the bartender using the hotel’s point-of-sales system.
• Check completed orders with the guest’s original order.
• Transport items to the guest table in a timely manner.
• Anticipate guest needs, ascertain satisfaction, offer suggestions, and respond urgently and appropriately to guest concerns and requests.
• Properly and accurately close guest checks; process cash and credit card payments; properly settle voided checks or complimentary items.
• Breakdown, clean, and set-up tables and drink stations.
• Comply with Four Seasons’ Category One and Category Two Work Rules and Standards of Conduct as set forth in EmPact.
• Work harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and supervisors.
