About The Position

As a Mixologist at MGM Resorts International, you will play a vital role in creating memorable experiences for guests through your extensive knowledge of beverages and exceptional service. Your responsibilities will include crafting a variety of drinks, maintaining the bar's appearance, and ensuring guest satisfaction by understanding their unique needs. This position requires a blend of technical skills in bartending and a passion for hospitality, all within a vibrant and diverse entertainment environment.

Requirements

• At least 5 years experience in beverage roles, such as Bartender or Barback in venues including bars, lounges, nightclubs, or restaurant bars.
• Experience working as a bartender in an upscale bar or lounge crafting specialty cocktails and drinks.
• Possession of valid current Culinary Union Pour Card.
• Experience working in a luxury resort environment.
• Ability to support outlets with different service models.
• Ability to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Make, serve, and demonstrate complex knowledge of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks available, proportioning ingredients according to standardized recipes.
• Maintain bar inventory according to set pars and internal controls and ensure cleanliness of the bar and equipment.
• Account for poured or served beverages, collect payment, and follow all cash handling and variance procedures, including preparing daily reports and submitting appropriate paperwork.
• Provide training and mentoring to Apprentice Bartender and Bar Porter on overall function of the bar, guest service, and bartending.
• Demonstrate proficiency in food service, knowledge of menu, allergies, and other potential guest restrictions, including proper marking and tableside service.
• Resolve guest complaints within scope of authority and refer matters to management when necessary.
• Utilize special tools and culinary equipment to prepare items like fresh juice, infusions, and molecular style cocktails.
• Maintain effective communication with management, bartenders, and lateral departments to accommodate guest or employee needs.
• Utilize sales techniques to upsell food and beverage products while ensuring a polished and artistic presentation of cocktails.
