Molding Products is looking for a Chemical Mixer to add to 2nd shift. 2:00pm - 10:30pm $20.00/hr + $2.00 shift premium. Wearing a respirator to perform certain tasks is a requirement for safety. You must keep face shaved to wear the respirator correctly. JOB OVERVIEW: Reporting to the Shift or Mix Lead or directly to the Production Supervisor, the Mixer Operator engages in the mixing activities and duties of the Mixing Department contributing to a safe, world-class quality, efficient operation.

  • Interact with the Shift or Group Leader or directly to the Production Supervisor regarding the mixing needs of the production schedule.
  • Proactively communicate availability and/or issues of raw materials, syrups, A and C sides along with equipment.
  • Verify the raw materials to the Weigh sheet and stage materials accordingly recording their lot numbers and quantities that are added to the mixing tank or vat.
  • Check tank farm to confirm resin availability and on-hand syrups. Communicate any shortages or issues to the Lead or Supervisor.
  • Add and mix raw materials according to defined procedures and record lot numbers accurately.
  • Return the "Used" Raw material skids to the staging area or warehouse.
  • Test pastes for temperature, Viscosity, and any other attributes per established procedures and/or practices.
  • Notify Lead and/or supervisor of any out-of-specification test results.
  • Clean and 5S area and equipment to maintain a safe and spill-free environment.
  • Clean up spills, report any over 1 lb. or more immediately to Lead, Supervisor, Production or HSE Manager.
  • Label and move scrap paste, acetone, and styrene drums to proper storage location.
  • Accurately and proactively warm up A and C-sides as required by the SMC lines.
  • Notify supervisor of any mechanical problems with mix, equipment, errors, or hazards, etc.
  • Provide records and reports as required by the Quality Management System.
  • Performs miscellaneous tasks in production area as directed by the Group Leader or Production Supervisor.
  • Responsible for handling, labeling, and record keeping of Hazardous Waste.
  • Assure vats, valves, and lids are clean and free of contamination before mixing in the vessel or placing a lid over it. Have a Lead, Supervisor, or QC Technician verify the cleanliness of the vessel before proceeding with mixing in the vessel.
  • Be sure to mix ingredients in the order of addition and in the quantities requested.
  • Be 100% trained and competent in 'breaking down' mixing equipment blades, LOTO out the Mixers, Hockmeyer and Cowles, before performing. Execute accordingly each time required. If any questions or concerns, contact a Lead, Supervisor, or Production Manager before proceeding.
  • High school diploma (GED) or equivalent.
  • 1 to 2 years of experience in a manufacturing plant environment preferred.
  • Good verbal skills with an eye for detail.
  • Multi‐task oriented, flexible, safety, quality, and customer committed.
  • Ability to work independently while a team player complimenting individual and team objectives.
  • Ability to drive Forklift.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. and handle full 55-gallon drums.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and procedures.
  • Certified and prepared to wear respirator if and when directed.
  • Previous mixing experience desired.
