About The Position

The Mixer is responsible for accurately preparing and blending food products according to established formulas and production schedules. This role ensures all ingredients meet quality specifications while maintaining compliance with safety, sanitation, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs). The ideal candidate has experience in food manufacturing, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in food manufacturing or food processing
  • Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication); ability to use a calculator
  • Ability to read thermometers, gauges, and meters and adjust equipment as needed
  • Proficient in English (speaking, reading, and writing); Spanish is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Obtain daily mixing sheets from the Lead Person
  • Inspect mixing equipment, tanks, and pipes to ensure cleanliness and proper sanitation
  • Inspect oil, water, and vinegar lines and pumps to confirm proper connections
  • Verify availability of ingredients and ensure correct raw materials, weights, and specifications (e.g., organic, non-GMO, brand, color)
  • Accurately pour ingredients into mixing tanks following exact procedures
  • Operate valves to allow measured amounts of liquids into mixing tanks
  • Monitor agitation and mixing processes to ensure thorough blending
  • Observe equipment operation and make adjustments as needed
  • Report equipment malfunctions to the Lead Person or Supervisor
  • Submit product samples to Quality Control for chemical analysis
  • Report any out-of-spec results, shortages, spills, holds, or work-in-process (WIP) issues
  • Document all changes, adjustments, and production activities
  • Compare product samples to standards to ensure proper color and texture
  • Coordinate with the filling department prior to transferring finished product
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow all GMPs
  • Participate in sanitation of production lines as needed
  • Perform all other duties as assigned
