About The Position

Quanex is looking for a production Mixer Utility Operator to join our QCM team located in Cambridge, Ohio . Assist in the daily operations of the Mixing Plant. What’s attractive about the Mixer Utility Operator position? Hours of Operation: 6:45am-3:00pm Growth Potential Team-Oriented Environment Dynamic Culture and People What Success Looks Like: Strong mechanical aptitude. Necessity for attention to detail. Assist in establishing and maintaining compound processing procedures. Requires Lifting (20 – 50 lbs.) Varies from task to task. Complete applicable paperwork. Stage raw materials to the mixer for daily schedule/cut boxes down for mixer operator. Maintain inventory in the compounding bins. Rotate raw material inventory to ensure FIFO system is utilized. Manage raw material inventory in an organized fashion. Ensure inventory is labeled correctly with bar code stickers and hazard labels if required. Stage oil totes to oil system. Loading and unloading of material lifts. Relieve upstairs production associates for breaks. Empty trash dumpsters and cardboard dumpsters. Assist shipping and receiving as needed. Perform monthly inventory count. General housekeeping. Assist mixer operator as needed Operate assigned machinery and equipment safely and efficiently Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions Maintain cleanliness and organization of work area (5S standards) Support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives Adhere to all safety policies and wear required PPE Obtain forklift certification Additional tasks as assigned by the Shift Supervisor Following all safety procedures and guidelines along with assisting in modifying and updating procedures Operating a forklift for various functions.

Requirements

  • One or more years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • High School or GED preferred
  • Willing to work overtime including weekends as needed
  • Close visual work required.
  • Knowledge of general computer skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to stand, walk, and use upper extremities while occasionally sitting, crouching, and bending.
  • Ability to climb stairs, lift up to 50 pounds and perform necessary job tasks.
