TITLE: Mixer Operator - Second Shift LOCATION: Onsite in Avon, Ohio SHIFT & HOURS: Monday – Friday, 1PM – 9:30PM (Saturday overtime as needed) Hiring Hourly Rate: $21.36/hr. (plus $2.00 Shift Differential) Custom Culinary®, a subsidiary of Griffith Foods, is hiring a Mixer Operator to be responsible for assembling usable products, verifying Critical Control Points (CCPs), and ensuring the proper transfer of products to the packaging area.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and follow written instructions
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
  • The ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions
  • The ability to work with standardized situations and minimal variables
  • Forklift certification or the ability to obtain one
  • Candidates must currently possess unrestricted authorization to work in the United States.
  • Work visa sponsorship is not available for this role.

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred (or equivalent experience)
  • Previous manufacturing or packaging experience
  • Experience working in a food production environment

Responsibilities

  • Reading and interpreting formulas, following procedures precisely, and documenting work on batch sheets.
  • Learning and operating the Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) touchscreen for kettles.
  • Performing sanitation duties, including the operation of a Clean-In-Place (CIP) system.
  • Setting up product transfer pathways and operating diaphragm pumps.
  • Continual swabbing of cooking equipment.
  • Operating multiple kettles and hydraulic systems.
  • Relaying critical information to the Research and Development (R&D) team in a timely manner.
  • Operating product scales and ensuring accurate measurements.
  • Completing all assigned training and demonstrating understanding of trained activities.
  • Supporting British Retail Consortium (BRC) audit requirements, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and legal standards.
  • Additional responsibilities as required to support departmental goals.
