About The Position

The Mixer position at Butterball Farms, Inc. involves the setup and mixing of ingredients for food production, ensuring quality and safety standards are met. This full-time role operates on a 4am to 2pm schedule, Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturdays. The ideal candidate will have prior food mixing experience and a strong attention to detail, contributing to the company's mission of enriching lives through innovative food manufacturing.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 1-2 years of previous experience in a food manufacturing production setting preferred.
  • Previous HMI Panel experience would be ideal.
  • Proficiency in working with iPad and computer software.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication.
  • Demonstrated ability to implement and manage change effectively, and an eagerness to learn.
  • Ability to lift heavy weight frequently (up to 50 pounds).
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Teamwork and ability to work with others.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent eye-hand coordination.
  • Math and reading skills.
  • Problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain high attention to detail while ensuring safety practices.
  • Using a batch card, perform the pre-weighting of ingredients.
  • Efficiently start up and run an automated mixing system by interacting with HMI panels.
  • Start-up and shut-down equipment, monitor performance of the machine, and complete required documentation.
  • Ensure product meets quality standards according to product specification.
  • Ensure all equipment is operational and complete basic troubleshooting to resolve any machine-related issues.
  • Follow procedures on specification sheets to ensure the correct ingredients are being utilized per product run consistently.
  • Identify and obtain ingredients as needed.
  • Visually inspect ingredients for foreign objects.
  • Perform simple mathematical equations.
  • Properly weigh, mix and add ingredients to the batch.
  • Obtain and log lot codes for ingredients being used.
  • Obtain and log slurry samples for QA testing.
  • Ensure you are maintaining a proper weight range.
  • Operate the kettle, grinder, and whipper within specific parameters.
  • Use the HMI/Control Panel effectively and monitor the speed.
  • Monitor and maintain proper whip percentage.
  • Visually determine batch progress.
  • Maintain proper product temperatures and a proper consistency.
  • Maintain a full kettle at all times.
