Imagine This It is Monday morning on-site, 8 a.m. You meet with your team to prioritize multiple in-flight programs. A mixed-signal measurement board requires a quick design decision, a cross-functional review aligns firmware and mechanical interfaces, and an afternoon coaching session helps a rising engineer master closed-loop temperature control. By 5 p.m., project quality, timing, and effectiveness are confirmed—and the team leaves smarter than they started. How You Will Make an Impact

Requirements

  • Strong technical depth with excellent interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence
  • Proven system design capability with cross-functional fluency (Mechanical, Firmware, Software, etc.)
  • Breadth across core electrical disciplines: Mixed Signal Design (ADC/DAC) and Measurement Systems Microcontroller and Digital design Analog design Closed-loop temperature control systems AC design (single phase and three phase) High voltage design (1 kV and above, typically low power) Motor control HMI (human-machine interface) design System design PWB/PCB and PWA experience Wire harness design
  • Excellent communication; skilled at coordination and facilitation
  • Strong awareness of stakeholder needs and an adaptive leadership style
  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering
  • 8+ years of experience in a product development environment

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a functional group of up to 10 engineers
  • Foresee issues, surface risks early, and drive fast, durable resolutions
  • Match individual capacity to program needs across parallel development efforts
  • Support hiring and, as needed, participate in termination decisions
  • Shape R&D strategy and contribute to long-range planning
  • Conduct or participate in special studies that inform architecture and design tradeoffs
  • Author and maintain job descriptions and job description review records
  • Establish and refine procedures for the electrical engineering function
  • Set product plans, strategy, and direction within your domain
  • Run regular team meetings to maintain alignment and momentum
  • Provide scheduled performance appraisals and continuous coaching
  • Guard the quality, timeliness, and overall effectiveness of project outcomes
  • Plan and deliver training to accelerate professional growth
  • Uphold LECO policies as outlined in the Employee Manual
  • Build a team-first culture within the department and across the broader organization
  • Advance and support the LECO Quality Plan
  • Collaborate with other departments to meet their functional needs
