Our production positions work in one or more areas of the manufacturing process to ensure that we meet the expectations of our customers in the areas of production, timeliness, and quality of the film we produce. This position works in our Coating Department. Standard schedule includes rotating 12-hour shifts working 3 or 4 days per week. Shifts rotate between nights and days every 28 days.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • Ability to lift 50 lb. bags of chemicals.
  • The ability to think independently, while working within company structures and guidelines.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and other departments.
  • Must be willing to be an ERT member and become confined space trained.
  • Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Office programs
  • Must be able to work 12-hour rotating shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Make up coating baths which consists of mixing appropriate chemicals consistently and accurately per company recipes and procedures.
  • Understand, manage and trouble shoot the Solvent Recovery process (SRS) daily.
  • Participate in Process Improvement projects as needed.
  • Communicate with coating and planning on bath requirements to meet production needs.
  • Participate in the weekly planning of lacquers required per planning.
  • Responsible for the accurate and weekly reporting of all materials (liquids and solids) utilized in the operation.
  • Fully trained and responsible for the handling for hazardous wastes generated by the coating department. This includes management of the wastes to meet federal guidelines. Annual certification to handle hazardous wastes in the coating department.
  • Safe operation and management of the solvent recovery distillation unit (POT STILL) for the recovery of spent solvents and baths that can have the solvent reclaimed.
  • Unload solvents from transporters into the proper storage vessels and the management of all DOT paperwork required and the safe transition of the materials from the truck to the tank.
  • Complies with Futamura’s safety and corporate guidelines on business ethics.
  • Follows all environmental and safety regulations, and acts in compliance with all applicable laws.
  • Ensures the Company's ISO procedures and quality statement and objectives are met and, if possible, exceeded.
