About The Position

This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, U.S. Border Patrol, Del Rio Sector located in Mission Readiness Operations, Del Rio, TX. The position allows you to plan and carry out a wide variety of administrative, management and program planning activities, policy research and other duties related to the missions and functions of Mission Readiness Operations. As a Mission Support Specialist (Generalist), you will assist with providing direct advice and guidance to USBP employees at all levels. This position starts at a salary of $49,025.00 (GS-07, Step 1) to $63,733.00 (GS-07, Step 10) with promotion potential to $77,955 (GS-9 Step 10).

Requirements

• You must be a U.S. Citizen to apply for this position.
• Males born after 12/31/1959 must be registered with Selective Service.
• Primary U.S. residency for at least three of the last five years.
• You may be required to pass a background investigation.
• CBP follows the DHS Drug-Free Workplace Plan for drug testing procedures.

• Successful completion of one year of full-time graduate education from an accredited college or university may substitute for the experience required at this level.
• Superior Academic Achievement (SAA) may also substitute for the experience required at this level.

Responsibilities

• Assists higher graded specialists and supervisor with managing base pay, premium pay, overtime, and leave entitlements and administration.
• Prepares local records management and assists with producing various fleet reports.
• Prepares and conducts the agency's invoice reconciliation process.
• Coordinates facility repairs and ensures that requests for such are recorded into the facilities management system.
