The Mission Staff position at Young Life in Midland, TX, is designed to oversee the operations of various departments that provide mission services and ensure the effective functioning of the organization's operations segment. This role is integral to the spiritual and leadership development of both staff and volunteers within the Young Life community. The Mission Staff will engage in spiritual development activities, which include prayer, fellowship, and maintaining relationships within a church community. A key aspect of this role is to develop a personal growth plan that fosters a vibrant spiritual life, emphasizing solitude, reflection, and a commitment to understanding God's Word. In addition to spiritual development, the Mission Staff will focus on leadership development by equipping leaders, committee members, and staff. This includes regular meetings with volunteer leaders, recruiting and training new leaders, and modeling excellence in various ministry activities such as contact work, club, Campaigners, and camping. The staff member will also assist in training leaders and developing a yearly ministry strategy that aligns with the community's needs. Resource development is another critical function of this role, which involves raising financial support, maintaining good donor care practices, and networking with key adults in the community. The Mission Staff will actively engage in direct ministry activities, including leading teams in planning and conducting Young Life clubs and implementing camping strategies. They will also serve at a Young Life camp each summer, further enhancing their ministry experience. Administrative responsibilities include adhering to Young Life policies, managing finances with transparency, maintaining accurate records, and providing professional communication to all involved in the ministry. The Mission Staff will set yearly strategic ministry plans and review them regularly to ensure they meet the needs of the community and reach every kid effectively. This position requires a commitment to personal and professional growth through various training opportunities provided by Young Life, including individualized training supervised by the area director.
