About The Position

The Mission/Quality Engineering Manager 2 at Northrop Grumman is responsible for developing, modifying, and maintaining quality evaluation and control systems for processing materials into finished products. This role involves collaboration with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure quality standards are met, implementing inspection and testing methods, and auditing quality systems for compliance. The manager will lead a team, set objectives, and ensure effective quality management systems are in place to support the organization's goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution with a minimum of five years of relevant work experience, or nine years of experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Two years' experience leading people, projects, or programs, or four years of experience in absence of a degree.
  • Experience with Quality Management Systems (AS9100, ISO 9001, NADCAP, and government standards).
  • Ability to communicate and manage site tactical and strategic goals for assigned value stream.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an SCI clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team within the larger organizational unit, setting and operating to objectives and providing guidance to subordinates based on goals, objectives, and company policy.
  • Perform analysis of alternative courses of action, considering risk/reward implications for programs or areas of influence.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with other functional managers and leaders to meet division, value stream, and quality objectives.
  • Establish operating procedures that affect organizational units and recommend modifications to policies.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing and design teams to achieve product and site goals, ensuring quality, delivery, and cost objectives are met.
  • Serve as Management Representative for AS9100 and coordinate 3rd party audits, ensuring resources are prepared.
  • Accountable for Quality Inspection and Quality Engineering resource and budget planning.
  • Ensure the effectiveness of the Quality Management System is maintained and followed.
  • Review trend metrics and analyze misses to make informed decisions on personnel, tools, and process effectiveness.
  • Facilitate root cause determination and resolve quality issues, including nonconformance and corrective actions.
