Requirements

  • Mission Operations experience, systems engineering, or ground software experience
  • Procedure writing experience
  • Attention to detail/strong organizational skills
  • Understanding of various spacecraft subsystems (GNC, propulsion, etc.)
  • This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
  • Clearance Level: Secret

  • Python experience
  • SW/HW testing experience

Responsibilities

  • Develop Recommended Operator Procedures (ROPs) that aim to capture what the capability is, the sequence of system actions, associated commands/telemetry, system constraints, and expected vehicle responses. This includes areas as command/control of on-orbit satellites, contingency scenarios, satellite maneuvers, mission planning by working with program SMEs and IPTs
  • Develop detailed end to end operator procedures (OP) that detail out the specific operator actions needed to execute the specific mission capability using the ground software
  • Translate manual steps from ROP/OPs into reusable python scripts that will be executed during mission operations. These scripts reduce operator workload while performing the expected mission functionality
  • Test developed OPs/Scripts on test assets using the ground software to crosscheck for expected SV functionality and validation of procedure process - this includes a feedback loop to update OP/script with testing results
  • Support and participate in Mission Dry Runs and Mission Rehearsals. These rehearsals include executing previously develop Mission operation products (ROP/OP/scripts) and validating them in flight-like configurations/scenarios
  • Future opportunities to conduct/support specific real time spacecraft flight operations during early mission operations
  • Assist with configuration management and packaging of scripts for testing, rehearsals, and eventually launch readiness
  • Opportunities for stretch assignments working on various Mission Operations activities: contract deliverables, participating in working groups, on-orbit test planning, and development of mission timeline
