About The Position

Functioning as the work unit lead, the Mission Operations Scheduler IV coordinates range time and bandwidth for events, exercises and test program objectives and data requirements with project officer/test director and applicable systems for each event and assists in eliminating conflicts between differing priorities of range operations. Responsibilities include supporting customers who are directly involved in programs entailing space operations, logistics, mission planning, scheduling, and coordination efforts at the operational work sites.

Requirements

  • The incumbent must have obtained training from a military school or gained equivalent on-the-job training specific to functions of the work unit.
  • Possess 9 years of experience in the local work unit operations and a minimum of 13 years' experience in space operations, range or bandwidth management, or associated activities.
  • The incumbent must have detailed knowledge of range capabilities and limiting factors, operational security constraints, mandatory safety parameters, and support system capability.
  • The incumbent must have good verbal and written communication skills, experience in the use of computer terminals, and proficient in the use of word processing and integrated software applications.
  • The incumbent must be able to work duty days in excess of eight hours, shift work, overnight stays, and weekend work to meet required schedule demands.
  • This position will require travel and may require the ability to obtain and retain a Security Clearance and must possess a valid state issued driver's license.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Readiness Flight with coordinating and executing training for uniform, civilian, and contractor personnel. Familiar with training management and training development concepts and processes necessary to ensure range personnel are properly trained, maintain proficiency and currency, and tracked according to their assigned duties.
  • Oversee development, prioritization, and implementation of the weekly, monthly, and 90-day, yearly and 18 month program range and bandwidth schedules.
  • De-conflicts unique tests assets to best meet objectives to support day, night, and current test operations.
  • Schedule range time and bandwidth for personnel, visiting personnel travel, and staff transporting material in preparation for test operations.
  • Coordinate changes in the real-time operations.
  • Responsible for planning and executing various events and exercises of multiple systems and programs associated with NSTTC operations at home and abroad.
  • Demonstrate through knowledge and application, a firm understanding of Space Range system-level operations, system architecture, and system interfaces.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of various NSTTC mission support processes and procedures to include, but not limited to evaluating PID/SOCs, Operations Requests, Operational Directives, Range Control Plans and CONOPS.
  • Scheduling and Planning NSTTC support for test, training, and exercises from simple training events to complex COCOM exercises involving multiple customers and deployment sites.
  • Select appropriate range system solutions based on capabilities and limitations to align to customer requirements.
  • Coordinates customer requirements for SATCOM signal environments such as satellite transponder signal sets (transmissions plans), ground system configuration plans, bandwidth requirements, and training scenarios.
  • Communicate with clarity and candor to ensure successful execution of events which meets or exceeds the customer's expectations.
  • Coordinating activities conducted on the NSTTC using the universal documentation system.
  • Support training of new range personnel.
  • Participate in acquisition process on new NSTTC systems to provide operational perspective. Activities include requirements input/review, design review, test, training, and system documentation.
  • Assist Project and/or /Program Managers with the daily conduct of large project/program activities involving Project tasks.
  • Perform other related duties as directed
