The Mission Integration Engineer II, In-Space is central to customer mission success starting with propulsion system delivery through integration, test, launch, and deployment. You will be our team on-site and with customers to assist with integration, operation, testing and flight of Ursa In-Space propulsion systems. Typical assignments include: authoring and executing integrated test procedures, system inspections, hardware troubleshooting, and multi-week test and flight campaigns on-location. A successful candidate will be eager to learn about chemical propulsion systems for satellites, enjoy hands-on work and solving complex problems, enjoy work-related travel, and be comfortable communicating technical and programmatic information to customers.

Requirements

  • S. in Engineering
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in spacecraft AI&T
  • Passion for developing customer relationships and ensuring mission success
  • Attention to detail, curiosity, and relentless in resolving problems
  • Hands-on experience with aerospace hardware
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced, startup environment
  • Willing to spend 30% of the year on travel for multi-week test and flight campaigns
  • Flight or test operational experience
  • Demonstrated experience in a customer-facing role
  • US CITIZENSHIP, PERMANENT RESIDENCY, REFUGEE OR ASYLUM STATUS IS REQUIRED.
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance.

  • Master's degree in Engineering

Responsibilities

  • Present and provide technical review in customer meetings and integration reviews
  • Generate, release, and implement customer-facing documents including propulsion system user guides and interface control documents
  • Become a subject matter expert on spacecraft propulsion systems and Ursa propulsion components
  • Travel to customer sites and lead propulsion system integration, perform checkouts, and assist in customer protoqualification test and flight campaigns
  • Troubleshoot system and component hardware issues in the field, develop solutions with the Ursa team and customer, and lead implementation
  • Identify and implement system improvements focused on customer needs, risk reduction, and end-use
  • Ensure best practices and technical alignment between Ursa Major and customer operations
  • Optimize field support processes and documentation practices for flight readiness
  • Train and mentor entry-level Mission Integration engineers
  • Develop training materials and train customers on Ursa Major propulsion systems
