About The Position

This role monitors and supports power and environmental systems within Switchs mission-critical data centers. You respond to alerts, investigate events, and coordinate with internal teams to restore and maintain system stability. The role is execution-focused, follows established procedures, and operates within a 24/7/365 environment.

Requirements

  • Ability to follow procedures accurately in high-pressure situations.
  • Clear and professional communication with technical and non-technical partners.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple alerts and priorities simultaneously.
  • Reliable attendance and willingness to work scheduled shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • 2 or more years of experience in IT, facilities operations, or a mission-critical environment, or equivalent education and training.
  • Functional understanding of electrical and mechanical systems used in data centers or other critical facilities.
  • Familiarity with systems such as generators, UPS, switchgear, ATS or STS units, PDUs, air handling units, cooling systems, and fire suppression systems.
  • Experience using ticketing systems and monitoring platforms.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • OSHA 10 certification required within 6 months of hire.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with building management systems such as Schneider EBO or similar platforms preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor electrical and mechanical infrastructure using approved monitoring platforms.
  • Act as a primary point of contact for power and environmental event investigations.
  • Interpret alerts, assess impact, and follow documented procedures to support remediation.
  • Create, update, and manage alarm-driven incident tickets.
  • Coordinate with Data Center Operations, Engineering, and other internal teams during incidents.
  • Document incidents clearly, including actions taken, timelines, and outcomes.
  • Follow escalation and notification procedures using sound judgment.
  • Provide timely and accurate updates to stakeholders as required.
  • Provide feedback to improve Mission Control tools, workflows, and processes.
