The Missile Material Handler Associate role involves performing various tasks related to the handling and management of missile materials, particularly hazardous materials. The position requires working under the guidance of senior personnel to acquire the necessary skills and knowledge for effective material handling, inventory management, and compliance with safety regulations. The associate will assist in ordering, receiving, repackaging, labeling, and monitoring hazardous materials, while also gaining experience in the operational aspects of missile material handling.

  • Utilize various documents and computer systems to perform duties related to missile material handling.
  • Assist in the ordering, receiving, repackaging, labeling, and inventory management of hazardous materials.
  • Track container returns and dispense hazardous material from larger containers into smaller unit sizes.
  • Process expired material and dispose of hazardous waste under supervision.
  • Acquire a working knowledge of missile material handling functions through training and on-the-job experience.
  • Demonstrate the ability to independently perform tasks associated with the Missile Material Handler Senior classification.
  • Ability to use equipment such as portable power saws, drills, and common carpenter hand tools.
  • Perform inventory management of stocked materials and equipment.
  • Ability to perform calculations related to volume, distance, weight, and units of quantity.
  • Ability to read and research information in federal manuals and company documents.
  • Obtain and maintain licenses and certifications for warehouse operations, including handling explosives and operating material handling equipment.
  • Possess a valid State driver's license and maintain required security clearance.
  • Demonstrated customer service skills.
  • Attention to detail in handling materials and documentation.
  • Experience in operating material handling equipment and cranes.
  • Familiarity with warehouse documents and inventory systems.
  • Experience with reading and following written procedures.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel.
