About The Position

Torch Technologies is seeking a highly skilled Missile Defense System Architecture Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will support the modeling, simulation, and analysis of advanced concepts that shape the future of the Missile Defense System (MDS). This position focuses on assessing threats, identifying capability gaps, and evaluating architectural solutions in response to Warfighter needs.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Master’s Degree in a STEM field, 8+ years of experience in missile defense-related or other complex, large DoD program/project
  • Active Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI.
  • Deep understanding of current MDS architecture and future system concepts.
  • Experience modeling, assessing, and evaluating future missile defense architectures.
  • Proficiency with MATLAB.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience defining and using advanced concepts and algorithms for M&S of MDS architectures.
  • Experience with M&S involving directed energy, kinetic weapons, and emerging future concepts.
  • Experience with HPC systems, Python, and Git.
  • Experience with BMD Benchmark tools.
  • Experience supporting systems engineering and architecture design activities.
  • Ability to assess new technologies and evaluate their applicability to missile defense needs.
  • Specialized experience in areas such as threat characterization, trajectories, RF or EO/IR sensing/signatures.
  • Proven experience contributing to MDS reports, technical studies, and congressional responses.
  • Experience collaborating on high-visibility products for DoD, Services, Combatant Commands, and industry partners.

Responsibilities

  • Assess MDS threats, capability gaps, challenges, and opportunities to develop potential mitigations and architecture-level capability evolutions.
  • Support modeling and simulation (M&S) efforts, including advanced analyses executed on DoD High-Performance Computing (HPC) systems.
  • Develop analysis plans, execute M&S activities, assess results, and prepare briefs, reports, and reviews of analytical products.
  • Facilitate the development and implementation of future concepts for M&S and architectural analysis.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for future concept development, architecture assessments, and review of preliminary analysis results.
