The FBM Program is experiencing significant growth and we need your expertise to deliver amazing new technologies to our customers while maintaining the technical requirements of the strategic deterrence. We want you to support the Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) D5LE2 Program in the Propulsion, Structures, Ordnance, and Controls (PSOC) team by joining the Structures Mechanical Engineering group as the D5LE2 Missile Configurator. The Missile Configurator manages and creates high level, complex CAD ASM models and solves problems associated with subsystem integration for the Trident II ballistic missile (commonly known as the D5LE and D5LE2 missile), lays out conceptual MCAD designs for program proposals, manages MCAD design maturity from concept to PDR through CDR, and prevents subsystem design interferences for every subsystem on D5LE2 FBM development program.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or higher degree in Engineering
  • Advanced CREO proficiency
  • Design experience utilizing Model Based Engineering tools
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Missile/Space Weapons Systems Experience
  • Proven self-starter with demonstrated capability to proactively work through difficult technical, project and resource challenges
  • 12+ years of experience in large program Configuration, assembly, and design integrations
  • Advanced knowledge of MCAD Lead and configurator roles
  • Demonstrated performance of bringing program through development reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR)
  • Strong full spectrum leadership with demonstrated experience in leading teams and working cross Integrated Product Teams by building effective relationships
  • Experience with integrating large assembly models, deconflicting interferences across components, and successfully releasing usable assembly level models to the program

Responsibilities

  • Establish large assembly integration plan and lead teams to execution of plan
  • Own and drive assembly integration setups and process
  • Work with AI&T and layout design of MCAD CREO ASM models with input from relevant designers and subsystems
  • Collaborate with MCAD Lead to ensure processes are set
  • Work associated integration of large subsystems such as installation of avionics, cabling, and PSOC commodities
  • Responsible for subsystem design integration and creating assembly level models/drawings that integrates each subsystem into full missile level
  • Work with MCAD Lead to ensure all submitted CREO drawings, models, and assemblies follow command media and set processes while integrating CAD ASM models.
  • Provide guidance on configuration best practices, requirements, and mentor Integrated Product Teams to ensure proper delivery of CAD models to allow for seamless configuration at the missile level
  • Execute to required schedule and perform/report earned value to ensure successful completion of all major design reviews
