Taylor County is currently seeking qualified applicants for Misdemeanor Deputy Clerk I in the Taylor County Clerk's Office. The Misdemeanor Deputy Clerk I position is a clerical position in the County Clerk's office, in the Misdemeanor Courts Division. As a member of a team, the position is responsible for various responsibilities and duties in support of the Judiciary. Primary duties also include customer service at the front counter and by telephone, taking payments and answering questions. Predominately this person will work with taking misdemeanor court cost and criminal fine payments. Collect delinquent fines and court cost, scanning, filing, contacting persons who are delinquent, and entering data into the County's case management system. Duties also include support of the Deputy Clerk II position's responsibilities as necessary. In addition to support for the other misdemeanor clerks, the person in this position must help all the other clerks in the office as needed or assigned; such as assumed name certificates, marriage license, and birth certificates. The deputy must be able to communicate effectively with the employees in the department, other county officials and citizens/customers who come in contact with the office and require our services. The Deputy Clerk I- Misdemeanor operates under the direction of the Chief Deputy and County Clerk.
