About the position

The Shift Assistant at Minot AFB is responsible for the shift operation of an Exchange branch facility. This role involves actively evaluating customers' needs by listening, providing solutions, and making recommendations to maximize customer satisfaction and Exchange brand loyalty. The position requires a commitment to providing high levels of customer service and maintaining operational standards.

Responsibilities

• Provides high level of customer satisfaction through excellent service.
• Greets each customer upon contact, assesses their needs, suggests alternative options, and provides solution resolution.
• Creates a welcoming environment, actively engages, and builds trust relationships with customers to deliver a personalized shopping experience.
• Utilizes superior sales skills to serve customers and adheres to merchandise presentation standards.
• Arranges space on the sales floor, sets up promotional fixtures, displays promotional merchandise, and maintains shelf labels.
• Keeps sales area fully stocked, receives and orders merchandise, checks gas levels, and assists with military uniform dress requirements.
• Operates a cash register or other sales-related equipment to enter new accounts, sales transactions, refunds, and prepares change funds.
• Maintains compliance in all aspects of recordkeeping, inventory, storage/display, and sales.
• Actively communicates/promotes the benefits of the Military Star credit card and other corporate programs to customers.
• Ensures compliance with fire, safety, sanitation, and security regulations.
• Practices loss prevention procedures and alerts security and management of potential problems.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Completion of high school or the equivalent.
• Retail experience.
• Demonstrated willingness and potential for additional responsibility.
• If applicable, must successfully complete the management compliance course number 175S within three months of occupying the position.
