About The Position

Summary of Position: Coordinates with the House Administrative Office regarding minority personnel issues. Essential functions include: 1. Screens potential applicants for minority caucus legislative aides and pages. Conducts interviews and participates in the hiring process of minority staff (legislative aides, LSC Fellows, and interns) 2. Supervises and assists in assigning work assignments for minority LSC Fellows and minority pages 3. Sets minority page schedules to provide adequate assistance to the members of the minority caucus in regards to their office and session duties 4. Organizes and provides additional training for House minority employees 5. Monitors work hours and use of leave by House minority employees; verifies minority e-time cards after employees approve their time cards 6. Assists the Chief Administrative Officer in investigating and resolving disciplinary matters involving minority employees 7. Serves on House internal work groups regarding all-staff trainings 8. Serves on interview panel with the Legislative Service Commission staff for Fellow interviews and makes recommendations for Fellow assignments to the Minority Caucus 9. Serves as a resource for all members, staff, pages, fellows and interns of the Minority Caucus on staffing and office administrative issues 10. Completes additional tasks as assigned by the Chief Administrative Officer, Minority Leader or Minority Chief of Staff The Ohio House of Representatives is an equal opportunity employer.
