About The Position

Lake Mead Christian Ministries (LMCM) Minister- Technical Theatre Teacher Job Type: Full Time/Salary (10 months) Department: Visual & Performing Arts Academy (VAPA) Reports to: Director of Visual & Performing Arts Compensation: $40,000-46,000/annually Job Summary: The Technical Theatre Teacher works an 11:00 AM-7:00 PM schedule and is responsible for both elective class instruction and after-school technical responsibilities. They will teach Middle School and High School electives, collaborating with the art department to create and teach the “Industrial Arts” curriculum. The Technical Theatre Teacher will run a “stage craft” club that helps build the sets for the mainstage productions. The technical theatre teacher also supports the mainstage productions by supervising the crew and other aspects of technical production. Some Saturday workdays will be required.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Theatre Education, Technical Theatre, Theatre Arts, or Secondary Education or related field (In lieu of a degree, 5+ years of relevant experience)
• A minimum of five (5) years of experience in professional tech theatre, higher education, or related experience
• Possesses a strong desire to work creatively with students
• Possesses a strong desire to win back the arts for Christ
• Spiritually mature Christian in agreement with the LMCM Statement of Faith and committed to the mission, vision, and core values of the LMCM Ministry
• Required Spiritual Qualities: Acknowledges Christ as Savior and lives life as His disciple
• Supports LMCM Mission by making disciples of Jesus Christ through our community involvement
• Demonstrates spiritual flourishing through prayer, Bible study, and outreach to others
• Believes the Bible to be the inspired, authoritative and inerrant Word of God
• Agrees with and actively supports the LMCM Statement of Faith
• Evidence of the fruit of the Spirit in dealing with people
• Has a Christ-centered home
• Attends and actively participates in a local, evangelical church

Responsibilities

• Writes weekly lesson plans
• Grades materials within a timely manner and enters into FACTS
• Gives students consistent and regular feedback
• Reaches out to parents regularly to communicate student successes, challenges, and behaviors
• Follows school policies in the classroom
• Uses Google Classroom and FACTS
• Plans and builds sets for 2 mainstage shows
• Oversees students while building and makes sure students are following safety rules
• Manages various project budgets and collaborates with VAPA admin team for orders and purchases
• Oversees crew and other technical production aspects to ensure shows and tech run smoothly
• Other duties as the supervisor deems necessary
