About The Position
The Minister of Music at Emmanuel Baptist Church is a full-time position that plays a vital role in the church's worship ministry. This position requires a close working relationship with the Senior Pastor, ensuring that the music ministry aligns with the church's overall mission and vision. The ideal candidate will be a mature Christian, demonstrating sound doctrine, temperament, and behavior as outlined in 1 Timothy 3:1-7. The Minister of Music will be responsible for planning, preparing, and leading worship services, both regular and special, creating an environment that fosters spiritual growth and community engagement through music. In addition to leading worship, the Minister of Music will rehearse and direct the choir, praise team, and worship band, ensuring that all musical elements are well-prepared and executed. The role also includes arranging music for various church events, such as weddings and funerals, and providing oversight for a fully graded choir program that includes preschool, children, and student choirs. The Minister of Music will supervise the full-time media director, who manages the lighting, video, and audio aspects of worship services, ensuring a seamless integration of technology and music. Financial stewardship is also a key responsibility, as the Minister of Music will plan, present, and administer the annual budget for the music and worship ministry. This position will also involve providing music and worship leadership for annual events, such as student camp, and participating in general duties related to congregational care as a member of the ministerial staff. The Minister of Music will be expected to perform all other duties as assigned by the pastor, contributing to the overall health and vitality of the church community.
