The Mining Supervisor will oversee and manage the mining departmental operations and resources as it applies to and affects Safety, Quality, Production, and Cost.

Requirements

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Knowledge of Contact Management systems; Inventory software; Manufacturing software; Order processing systems; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and supervise mining department technical operations and resources.
  • Ensure mine and workplace safety. Adhere to all Federal, State, Local and Acme Brick policies and procedures.
  • Ensure 'ASTM' and 'ACME' quality standards are met. Ensure customer satisfaction and customer service.
  • Ensure production budgeted figures are met. Meet Green, Yield, Packaged, Loaded, and % loss.
  • Maintain budgeted departmental composite cost. Control labor dollars, man hours, overtime, repair, and operation spending in the department.
  • Oversee planning, execution and control of departmental and plant resources, procedures and material handling.
  • Oversee the administration and security of property, machinery, equipment, employees, tools, procedures, and buildings.
  • Be in control of strategic and situational goals, action plans, funding requirements, and schedules that affect production, cost, safety, and quality for both the short term and long term. Operate the department effectively and continuously improve performance.
  • Oversee the selection, development, performance and management of hourly employees.
  • Oversee and ensure all required reporting is being completed. There are Federal, State, and Company requirements covering all areas of operation.
