About The Position
Redpath USA Corporation, a premier full-service underground mining contractor, is seeking a qualified Shaft Engineer to join our team for the South 32 Hermosa Mine project located in Patagonia, AZ. This position is critical to ensuring the management and coordination of all engineering activities associated with the entire shaft infrastructures. The Shaft Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the engineering aspects of shaft sinking operations, ensuring compliance with mining regulations, and applying detailed mining engineering skills in various areas such as ventilation, rock mechanics, explosives, cost evaluation, and mining methods. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of construction techniques and requirements, as well as mining operations and techniques. The role requires the ability to manage multiple projects and personnel effectively, ensuring that projects are completed in a timely manner. The Shaft Engineer will also need to have a good understanding of field requirements and conditions, allowing them to lead projects to completion while estimating the time, effort, and cost involved in construction at mining works. Additionally, the engineer will work closely with clients to anticipate their needs and provide answers to any questions they may have. This position requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering and a minimum of 10 years of field experience in mining, including at least 5 years of field experience specifically in shaft sinking. Candidates must also be prepared to provide proof of identity and US work authorization on their first day of employment.
