About The Position

Worley Consulting is seeking a Mining Innovation Project Manager to lead and accelerate the adoption of digital technologies and innovative solutions within the mining sector. This role involves driving transformation by assessing technology readiness, scaling advancements, and optimizing operations to enhance efficiency, sustainability, and competitiveness. The individual will bridge the gap between current mining practices and cutting-edge technologies, ensuring the organization remains at the forefront of industry innovation. The position requires a strong focus on sustainability and the ability to develop strategies for emissions-intensive clients to transition to low carbon energy options efficiently and safely.

Requirements

• Minimum of 10+ years industry experience.
• Experience in the mining sector (surface/underground) is a must.
• Experience at a top tier or boutique consulting firm, Big 4, or through an ‘in-house' consulting/business development role.
• Strong self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset.
• Excellent communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex ideas effectively.
• Critical thinking, analytical, and quantitative problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in autonomous mobile fleet, robotics, data analytics across the mining value chain, IIoT, and machine learning/artificial intelligence.
• Proven network in the consulting industry.
• Detail-oriented with significant consulting experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert advice and guidance on best practices for digital transformation and technology integration in mining.
• Evaluate the financial, environmental, and operational impacts of proposed innovations.
• Assess the current state of digital infrastructure and recommend improvements tailored to the organization's needs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify innovation opportunities and deploy cutting-edge technologies.
• Develop and implement strategies for scaling digital and technological readiness across mining operations.
• Manage one or more client relationships and generate business opportunities.
• Lead the preparation of proposals, execution plans, and budgets.
• Support a continuous improvement culture and identify gaps, developing work processes, tools, and methodologies to drive productivity and growth.
• Take ownership for project success, ensuring delivery of target quality, cost management, and customer satisfaction.
• Mentor and assist with career development of junior consultants.
