About The Position

We are seeking a motivated Mining Engineering student to join our team for the summer internship program. This role will provide hands-on experience supporting mine planning, production optimization, data collection, and operational projects in both open pit and process areas. You will work closely with our mine operations and engineering teams to contribute to real-time projects that drive site efficiency and productivity. Requirements

  • Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s program in Mining Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Completed at least two years of coursework (Junior or Senior standing preferred).
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with mine planning software (e.g., Surpac, Vulcan, MineSight) is a plus.
  • Ability to work outdoors in a mining environment.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Must be able to wear required PPE and follow all site safety protocols

Responsibilities

  • Assist with short-term mine planning and pit design tasks using mine planning software.
  • Support daily production tracking and data reconciliation.
  • Perform field work including pit inspections, drill/blast pattern layout, and GPS surveys.
  • Assist with haul road design and water management projects.
  • Collaborate with engineers and geologists to collect and analyze ore control and drill/blast data.
  • Contribute to safety audits, risk assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Prepare reports and present findings to engineering and operations leadership at the end of the internship.
