Barr is seeking a senior mining engineer to join our mining team. In this hybrid role, you will support the Engineering and Design business unit group on mine design and mine planning (both short- and long-term); sequencing and scheduling, including implementation planning and development sequencing; ore blending plans; mine reclamation plans; report writing; overall mine development mineral project studies (scoping through feasibility); and economic analysis. This person will provide technical expertise as well as oversight and management of various mineral projects involving both ferrous and nonferrous minerals. Administrative responsibilities such as business development, project management, project planning, budgeting and scheduling, and workload estimating are also part of this strategic role. This person will have the opportunity to serve as a mentor to junior and mid-level engineers, helping them develop their technical and project management skills by reviewing technical reports, providing guidance on analyses, and overseeing their financial and client management on projects. Work arrangement: a hybrid work arrangement may be considered for this position. A hybrid work arrangement refers to splitting time worked between a Barr office and a home office. This position can be based out of Barr's Salt Lake City, Utah; Denver, Colorado; Albuquerque, New Mexico; or Reno, Nevada, office. Travel expectation: up to 10 percent domestic fieldwork, depending on project needs. Work environment: Ability to work in locations that have rough terrain typical of construction, manufacturing, and/or rural outdoor sites with limited accessibility, moving machinery, and other conditions typical of industrial facilities.
