About the position
As a Bartender, you will be responsible for providing excellent service to guests at the bar. Your day-to-day tasks will include greeting guests pleasantly, promoting house drinks, and utilizing up-selling skills to enhance revenue. You will prepare beverages according to established standards and recipes, ensuring consistency and cost control. Coordination with food service for bar/lounge guests is also part of your role. You will monitor guest behavior and alcohol consumption, ensuring responsible service and compliance with legal requirements. Following hotel safety protocols and addressing guest complaints effectively are essential aspects of your position. Additionally, you will manage bar setup, inventory, and cleanliness, while working collaboratively with other departments to maintain high service quality.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests pleasantly as they approach the bar and promote house drinks.
- Prepare beverages using established pouring standards and drink recipes.
- Coordinate food service with restaurant(s) for bar/lounge guests if applicable.
- Monitor guest behavior and alcohol consumption; notify management of incidents involving excessive consumption.
- Check identification for age verification when necessary.
- Follow established hotel safety protocols and report any incidents immediately.
- Resolve guest problems/complaints using service recovery guidelines.
- Set up the bar with all necessary supplies and perform pre- and post-shift work.
- Requisition supplies and manage liquor inventory according to hotel procedures.
- Ensure all liquor is secured before, during, and after shifts.
- Handle cash and credit payments, provide accurate change, and balance cash drawer at the end of the shift.
- Maintain cleanliness and attractiveness of bar and seating areas, ensuring compliance with standards.
- Inspect equipment for proper operation and perform cleaning tasks as required.
- Work as part of a team and communicate with other departments to ensure quality service.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Experience within luxury hotel chains or 5-star luxury hotels & resorts.
- Previous work experience as a Bartender.
- Attentiveness and patience for customers.
- Active listening and effective communication skills.
- Team spirit and flexibility to work in shifts.
- High school diploma.
- Food safety training is a plus.
- Strong written and spoken English skills.
- High-energy individual with a positive attitude.
