About The Position

The Mine Dispatcher & Operations Supervisor is focused on supporting safe and productive crew operations through supervision of personnel and/or the dispatching system. This position reports to the Dispatch Specialist and collaborates with various internal departments such as Mine Technical Services, Mine Operations, Mine Maintenance Planning, and others, as well as external groups like Empire Technology. The role involves a combination of field supervision and dispatching based on crew and company needs.

Requirements

• Quick learner with a proactive mindset
• Mindset of continuous improvement
• Experience with MineStar or similar fleet management system
• Basic network understanding and experience
• Strong computer skills with Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
• At least 3 - 7 years of mining operations experience
• Excellent communication, analytical, management, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders
• Fluency in English (speaking, comprehension, reading, and writing)
• Prior exposure to mine dispatching software and hardware is preferred

Responsibilities

• Field supervision of berm heights in working areas
• Oversee drill productivity and drilling targets execution
• Ensure compliance with dump designs and plans
• Manage crew assignments to appropriate equipment
• Minimize bottlenecks and issues at the crusher
• Operate the pit dewatering system
• Maintain pit floor quality and quality of dump sets
• Enhance shift change efficiency
• Supervise ancillary operations
• Clean up files and bench lines on loading units to prevent over-digging
• Communicate maintenance plan priorities and changes
• Ensure consistent cycles by the end of a shift
• Manage cleanup files and patterns on drills
• Maintain a quality mine model and audit the MineStar system
• Ensure correct ore control on loading units
• Minimize queue time on trucks and wait to dump time
• Monitor pit slope stability radars
• Report technology system issues
• Track uptime and downtime of dewatering systems and pumps
• Demonstrate support of Capstone's Core Values
