About The Position

The Mine Dispatcher & Operations Supervisor is focused on supporting safe and productive crew operations through supervision of personnel and/or the dispatching system. This position reports to the Dispatch Specialist and collaborates with various internal departments such as Mine Technical Services, Mine Operations, Mine Maintenance Planning, and others, as well as external groups like Empire Technology. The role involves a combination of field supervision and dispatching based on crew and company needs.

Requirements

• Quick learner with a proactive mindset
• Mindset of continuous improvement
• Experience with MineStar or similar fleet management system
• Basic network understanding and experience
• Strong computer skills with Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
• At least 3 - 7 years of mining operations experience
• Excellent communication, analytical, management, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders
• Fluency in English (speaking, comprehension, reading, and writing)
• Prior exposure to mine dispatching software and hardware is preferred

Responsibilities

• Field supervision of berm heights in working areas
• Monitoring drill productivity and drilling targets execution
• Ensuring adherence to dump designs and plans
• Assigning personnel to appropriate equipment as needed
• Minimizing bottlenecks and issues at the crusher
• Operating the pit dewatering system
• Maintaining pit floor quality and quality of dump sets
• Improving shift change efficiency
• Supervising ancillary operations
• Cleaning up files and bench lines on loading units to prevent over-digging
• Communicating maintenance plan priorities and changes
• Ensuring consistent cycles by the end of a shift
• Maintaining a good quality mine model and auditing the MineStar system
• Ensuring correct ore control on loading units
• Minimizing queue time on trucks and wait to dump time
• Monitoring pit slope stability radars
• Reporting technology system issues
• Tracking uptime and downtime of dewatering systems and pumps
• Demonstrating support of Capstone’s Core Values
