The position involves a critical role in ensuring safety and production leadership within the Capstone Values framework. The successful candidate will integrate with the Capstone safety culture, leading crews to operate in accordance with the Life Saving Rules and Critical Behaviors through Quality Safety Interactions. The individual will exemplify Capstone Values, demonstrating accountability, excellence in execution, and a commitment to delivering results while working responsibly to ensure the well-being of both personnel and the business. Field supervision is a key responsibility, where the candidate will manage the Delta-C Performance Program for Haulage, onboard new employees, and oversee their progression from MPT1 to MPT2. This includes auditing haul truck training, signing off on trained operators, and ensuring compliance with training documentation. Monthly performance evaluations will be conducted, providing feedback to MPT1s and promoting them to MPT2s when appropriate. The role also requires tracking and improving haulage performance through the analysis of KPIs and managing the operator scorecard program. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring safe haulage conditions, responding to acute fatigue situations, and maintaining all necessary safety measures such as berming, illumination, and signage. They will also manage the haulage fleet and haul road network, ensuring proactive maintenance and addressing any deficiencies in road conditions. Communication with maintenance crews and the optimization of haulage efficiency are essential components of this role. In addition to field supervision, the position includes dispatch supervision responsibilities, managing communications within the mine, ensuring clear and professional radio communications, and relaying information across various departments. The candidate will monitor automated mine safety systems, track operator fatigue, and respond to geotechnical alarms as per the Ground Control Management plan. The role requires maximizing safe and efficient production by providing timely assignments to employees and ensuring compliance with production targets. The position also involves maintaining logs for special events, assisting with operator equipment swaps, and participating in blast clearance activities. Overall, this role is pivotal in ensuring operational excellence and safety within the mining environment.
